Google review request messages
Send the same message to every customer, after every visit or job. Copy it, or open it straight in WhatsApp and pick the contact. Change [name] to their first name.
How to ask for Google reviews without breaking the rules
The poster and messages above already follow these. Keep to them when you ask in person too.
Do
- Ask every customer, not just the ones who seem happy.
- Use the same friendly request for everyone.
- Make it easy and optional: a QR code on the counter, a link in a message.
- Reply to every review, good or bad, calmly and specifically.
Don't
- Offer discounts, freebies or money for a review.
- Ask only happy customers, or send unhappy ones somewhere else first.
- Ask for five stars or tell people what to write.
- Pressure customers to review before they leave, or give staff review targets.
- Post reviews yourself, or ask staff, friends or family to.
Breaking these can get reviews removed, new reviews blocked, or a warning shown on your Google profile. Fake reviews have also been illegal in the UK since April 2025. Read Google's policy.
Google review QR code questions
How do I make a Google review QR code for my business?
Copy your review link from "Ask for reviews" on your Google Business Profile, paste it into the QR code generator above, add your business name and download. The poster, table card and stickers are free.
Where do I find my Google review link?
Sign in to the Google account that manages your business and search Google for your business name. On your Business Profile, tap "Ask for reviews" (sometimes called "Get more reviews"), then "Copy link".
Is this Google review QR code generator free?
Yes. There is no charge and no subscription. We ask for your name, email and phone so we can help if your code doesn't scan. Marketing emails and messages are optional.
Can I offer a discount or freebie for a Google review?
No. Google's policy bans incentives of any kind for reviews, and a business that offers them can have reviews removed, new reviews blocked or a warning shown on its profile. UK law also bans fake reviews and hidden incentivised reviews.
Can I ask only happy customers to leave a review?
No. Google doesn't allow businesses to selectively ask for positive reviews. Ask every customer, in the same way, and let them choose whether to leave one.
How big should a Google review QR code be?
The QR code on the A4 poster prints about 8 to 9 cm wide and on each sticker about 4 cm wide, which scans easily from a normal distance. Print at actual size and test it with your own phone before you put it up.
What happens to my details?
We Manage Reviews, part of SAL Digital Solutions Ltd, keeps them to help with your poster and to send anything you asked for. We never sell them, and you can ask us to delete them at any time by emailing contact@wemanagereviews.com.
